It is a tour especially organized and put together for Buddhists from all over the world. It starts with the largest stupa in the world, Boudhanath and goes through many historic and important stupas in Buddhism.
You go to Namobudda which is located in Dhulikhel and then, the next day, to visit Kathmandu in the Boudhanath stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa which are remarkable places for Buddhists. Even though Nepal is highly populated by Hindus, prayer flags and wheels in the Boudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupa of Buddhism indicate religious harmony in Nepal.
You head towards the birthplace of Gautam Budda which is a sacred pilgrimage place for Buddhists all over the world. There are main attractions apart from this as well such as Maya Devi Temple and historic Ashoka pillar made before 3000 BC.
As soon as you land, we pick you up and take you to the hotel. You will meet your guide to talk about the scheduled tour. We will take you for sightseeing at one of the UNESCO world heritage site, Swayambhunath Stupa which is also known as Monkey Temple. You may take a stroll through Thamel in the evening and try some Nepalese food. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Namobuddha is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites and the monastery is called Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. It is also famous for the sacrifice of a tiger. You will drive to Dhulikhel (35 km east of Kathmandu) and start a hike to Namobuddha where you can see beautiful scenery in Namobuddha which is the best place for meditation and practice. After some time, you drive back to Kathmandu.
Today there will be full day sightseeing and visit Swayambhunath Temple which is also known as ‘The Monkey Temple’. Then, you visit Patan Durbar Square and Basantapur Durbar square where you can see rich ancient culture through sculptures, wood carvings, temples and other structures. In the evening you can explore the city of Kathmandu on your own. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
You fly to Bhairahawa which takes around 45 minutes from Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will take you for sightseeing around the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
You will have lunch in the hotel and head out for sightseeing in Lumbini, UNESCO World Heritage Site. A must-see attraction is the museum, which houses tons of items from many dynasties that once controlled Lumbini, including metal sculptures, coins, and stamps. Then, you’ll drive to Bhairahawa airport and fly to Kathmandu. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today you visit Kopan Monastery as well as Boudhanath stupa. Kopan monastery is a member of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international network of Gelugpa dharma centers, and once served as its headquarters. Kopan has become especially famous for teaching Buddhism to visiting Western foreigners.Then, we will take you to the Boudhanath stupa which is the largest stupa in the world. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Centre is located in Thamel, Kathmandu's bustling tourist hub, and offers a wide range of programs to learn more about. You’ll go to attend the one day workshop – ‘Discovering Buddhism’ in which various preliminary and advanced Buddhist teachings with contemplation and discussions led by monks, nuns and scholars from both Tibetan Buddhist and various Buddhist traditions are conducted. Overnight stay at the hotel.
