There are 297 peaks in Nepal that are 6000 meters or higher and are open for climbing, both climbed and unclimbed peaks. Of the 297 summits, 270 are owned by the Department of Tourism and 27 by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). It is also possible to add trekking peaks that drop to a height of 5500m (18,044ft) in this category.
